To-See List

| | Comments (7)
love actually_s.jpg Oscar season again. Not that they always honor good movies or fascinating movie people, but it's often a time to catch films that are more interesting than the others. Believe it or not, I keep a to-see list (yes, the ink-on-paper kind) all the time; whether I get to watch them all or not is another story though. (Excuse me, I have to stop a moment to say something irrelevant, "Rufus, Greek Song is so fooking beautiful. Thank you for saving me again.") So here comes my little list, in no particular order. (Recommendations, comments, advice and knowing winks are broadly welcome.)
- "Mystic River": Sean, Tim, Kevin and Clint. Tim Robbins in a not-so-political role. Did I mention Tim Robbins? - "Cold Mountain": Honestly, I don't expect this film to be worthy of all that money they spent in production but we never know. Don't think this will be too significant either, but I'm still going to see it, for the beautiful people. - "thirteen": Just an attempt to recall what happened to me when I was 13. - "Masked and Anonymous": Despite the ill reviews, I still want to see it. For obvious reasons. - "Girl with a Pearl Earring": Colin Colin Colin! Vermeer Vermeer Vermeer! - "Mona Lisa Smile": A friend sniffed at it and said, "What, a bunch of girls trying to make another 'Dead Poets Society'?" Well, maybe, but I'm still going to see it, for Kirsten Dunst, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Julia Stiles. And let's not forget Mike Newell, who made "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and is going to direct "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." - "House of Sand and Fog": Though it looks mundane, it's got Jennifer Connelly and Ben Kingsley. First-time director Vadim Perelman was no rookie in this one, said my friend. - "Yossi and Jagger": 'Cause the title sounds cool. - "The Missing": Some people say it's bad, but at least I have to see for myself how Cate falls. Or perhaps, how she stands alone when all the others are falling. - "In America": Samantha Morton is illuminary. - "Lost in Translation": Sofia Coppola strikes again. Bill Murray is said to be pretty good in this one; the left-wing-'cause-we-have-to-be Village Voice even named his performance the best of the year. (Not that I always agree with those geeks) - "Elephant": 'Cause Gus Van Sant is good. - "Something's Gotta Give": Well, it's Diane Keaton in all her glory. - "Good bye, Lenin!": Many have recommended this and I suppose a small film about small people can occupy big space. - "In This World": Perhaps not Michael Winterbottom's best, but bet it's still worth watching. Same goes for "24 Hour Party People." - "Swimming Pool": Charlotte Rampling directed by François Ozon. Hmm. - "Monster": Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. As Lovers. - "Love Actually": This one's easily on the list, isn't it? Possible Post-viewing Honorable Mention: Scarlett Johansson. Said to be outstanding as the girl with a pearl earring and radiant in "Lost in Translation," I guess this girl's one to watch. OK, I'm a geek. Photo taken from a scene in "Love Actually"

Hey, I just remember one to add to my too-see list, "Shattered Glass"
I posted 那個那個 just now..

我就幫大家問了,「那個那個」是哪個哪個?

泡泡,

嗯,我也有點想看,但要先想辦法忘記Christensen在Attack of the Clones裡面的樣子...Peter Sarsgaard是個好演員。

XXC,

「那個那個」就是泡泡貼的那篇那個那個嘛。

再加幾部片:

21 Grams
Shattered Glass
Intacto
Big Fish
Along Came Polly
Untitled Woody Allen Fall Project
