Once, I read an article about the all-time sitcom salary champions. i.e,"Friends" $26 million each actor/actress. "Jerry Seinfeld" got $62 million.... Now, maybe "Everybody Loves Raymaymond" will return to TV nexy year. Ray Raymond insists he wants a staggering $100 million to come back for a ninth season....
And that Jerry earned too much money, as we all know. (I do think he's brilliant and enjoyed Seinfeld a lot)
Will Ray Romano get his wish? I doubt it....I mean, Helen Hunt & Paul Reiser each got $1m per episode in the prime of "Mad About You" (I miss the show sooo much!), and they were really central to the show. Ray Romano is a funny guy, but Patricia Heaton (who, imho, is seriously underpaid) and Brad Garrett are just as essential. Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts are hysterical too, as Ray's parents. A bunch of comedy heavy-weights. Very tight ensemble. (Btw, I think "Will & Grace" has an ensemble like that too) Honestly, without them, Ray (Barone) would seem like merely a whiner...
