"How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You"

The newlyweds sing - beautifully!
My friend Sam got married to a wonderful woman today. I'm happy for them. This wedding holds a different meaning to me (but it wasn't because I used to walk the groom home four times a week). It's the first Christian wedding I've ever actually attended. The newlyweds, both from Christian families, share an adamant faith in God and a love for music, so naturally the whole ceremony was filled with psalms - there were even three choirs from two different towns. The happy couple sang as well. And boy were they good at it! Though not a Christian, I somehow learned quite a few psalms when I was little, from my childhood best friend's mother who awarded me with fancy-patterned pencils and books every time I learned five new songs. And at the wedding, I recognized two of the psalms and wanted to sing along but didn't, because now it seemed strange. (The songs had lovely melodies though!) After the ceremony, we all went to the hotel for the gracious banquet. While we were waiting for the elevator, Elton John's "Your Song" was heard. My fellow guest turned around and smiled at me, and at the same time we said, "This song should have been played at the wedding!" Sir Elton certainly is good at making people feel bubbly.
Now, to this point, I already forgot why I started writing this. Maybe I just wanted to capture the ambiance of the moment; maybe I just wanted to say I'm happy for the newlyweds. (One tidbit: I went to the same high school with the bride but somehow we just never got to know each other. Then today at the wedding I bumped into a friend who used to ride the school bus with me during our senior year and who is also a close friend of the bride. Talk about how small the world is, eh?) On the way home I kept hearing a song in my head which made me smile. You know what song it was? "How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You" by Marvin Gaye. We certainly witnessed the sweetness today.

This article is sweet, sweet, sweet...........
Just like your dress on that wedding day~ :-D

Thanks a lot! (You're really good at building my self-esteem as a girl-in-pink-dress)

I forgot to mention the groom's dad looked like Kevin Costner (though I don't really like Mr. Costner) but was actually nicer (I guess). The groom's mom's pretty too, she had a warm smile:D
